Step by step, we hike and climb.
Sweat blurs my vision as I look at the time.
Waves crash on the pebbled beach below.
Mountain meets the sea, with the sun in tow.
Then a washing whirling sound erupts.
Up rises a tentacled sea beast with tusks.
As big as the mountain, as wide as the bay.
It’s body blocking out of the light of day.
It lets out a gurgle, a groan, and a shout,
My head swirls around, my life now in doubt.
It’s step and sneeze create a natural disaster.
Is this it? Because I can’t run any faster.
